About the concept:

B-polar is the winning entry of recent Alaska Motors by Local Motors. The competition brief was very attractive so I ran into it. Didi some research on what is currently available and then started very quickly to sketch. I already had some design ideas in mind, as well as for functionnality, power, storage, etc. The vehicle is a race offroad 4×4 with high ground clearance, powered by GPL and with a photovoltaic front shell. It embarqs a lot of technology in it, such as drive by wire and Heads Up Displays. Storage space is located at the rear, more convenient. The chassis can twist and turn around a central sphere (the gas tank) to help maneouvrability in any conditions. It has two engines, on for each set of wheels.

About Anthony Colard:

I’m 23, french, graduated from Strate College Designers in Paris in June 2009, with congratulations of the jury for my RCS Orion / Caudron C848 project. I’m found of everything which offers great sensations, especially motorbikes and sportscars. Planes are also a big inspiration for me as my grandpa was a pilot. I also love jet skiing, snowboarding, etc. I use mainly traditionnal techniques as I’m not a big fan of computer sketching, also because my computer starts to be very slow! I’m currently developing my own motorbike, based on a Ducati Superbike engine and frame. I have also other projects in production process, but they are confidential. All i can say is that a car will be unveiled this year and a helicopter.

  1. I was speechless when I saw it from the very first time in LM competition and I’m still amazed about the result and all the process behind the concept. Your ideas and drawing skills are very professional and unique, congratulations for such an effort.
