Happy New Year, and a quick update

Hello everyone,

it’s been a while, huh? Well, this is embarrassing. I started this site for you, guys – car design lovers, students and professionals, and then I left it alone. Mea culpa, mea culpa. It was a tough year, had a lot of work, school, etc. etc, blah blah.

But the thing is, I just sat on my balcony the other day and realized how much potential this site has, how much I loved getting emails with positive feedback, getting new concepts ( even those really bad – because you know, remember your work 10 years ago) and I said to myself that It would be really a pity to let it go.

I spent a few days updating Wordpress, organizing emails, new concepts (even though they are really old), big amount of press releases and competition announcements i failed to post by the time it was appropriate. Now it’s all pretty, cleaned up and ready to roll. But there’s a catch. I have my fnal thesis knocking on the door and I can smell it being super-time-consuming, almost impossible with a full time job as I have.

So guys, if there’s anyone with a decent english (better than mine preferably:) and at least some Photoshop and Wordpress skills willing to contribute, please, drop me an email. I am almost sure you will be given free kitten in heaven, and if we’re able to drive the traffic to this site again, a fair share of that google ad revenue is here for you( if it makes enough money to pay the hosting finally:).

Other thing, the submit form is working again, please use it. I’m sure we’ve got a lot of catching up, and I’ll be more than happy to see your new concepts in my inbox and on the site.

For those of you who made it here, thanks and Happy New Year, hope you’ll be able to do all the things you wish you did in 2009, because I’m definitely planning to.

UPDATE – we just moved to new hosting, so no more downtime!

Ressurection!

Hey there,

Just to let you know we had a little problem and salad seemed to be dead, later seemed to be more than dead (that was after half of our server hard drives died), BUT
now we are alive and more alive than ever, you can look forward to many concepts accumulated in our inbox as well as some new features:)

so, c’mon guys, send some more concepts, it’s the season!

Salad @ social networks: facebook & flickr

Just a quick post before a bigger article: Conceptsalad started to integrate itself in social networks, so far you can become a fan of conceptsalad on facebook.com or join the group at flickr.com and start contributing to the pool (which is empty at the moment, so come on, send your stuff).

If you’re not in these networks or don’t actually know what they are, sign up for a facebook profile or a flickr account.

Concept salad launch NOW!

Tada! Here we go Ladies and Gentlemen, our baby is alive and kicking! Still a few child illnesses, and like every child, constantly asking for attention:)
Needs much tweaking and playing around with, but come on, it’s fun:) Since it’s still a litle bit “beta”, I will appreciate any comments, suggestions, bug reports or just any feedback you have. Please send them to suggestions@conceptsalad.com

So, we finally have our domain name registered, hosting set up, mailboxes created, layout fairly finished, mozarella is ready and tomatos nice and juicy. Tweaking period begun, pursuading wordpress to work like we want him to work, sending emails to guys asking for first projects (Thanks for all the mails!) and It slowly starts to look like we imagined.

Let’s make some salad!

I just sat to my computer, all tired of watching all the portfolios on other sites and pictures that are so small i need magnifying glass, and said to myself: Hey, let’s make some salad of my own! First I wanted to have a general design portal with all those fancy stuff like update-able portfolios, massive databases, discussion boards and extensive articles. But hey, what for? we already have sites like these and they are already well established.

Why not to do a site all about concepts? Some valuable articles and tutorials, but basicly projects. What I really didn’t like about other sites is that people replace pictures of older concepts (And I liked them so much!) and I could only look at pictures a few pixels wide ( Magnifying glass comes handy). So I sat and started working.
