About the concept

The design brief was to design an interior for an off track (non racing) car for Rubens Barrichello. I made the decision to focus on a part of the family, the father and son relationship, to differentiate myself. I decided to design an interior in which Rubens can teach his oldest son how to drive, so he can follow up his father! The interior can be put in an exterior ( learning mode, real time) or can be put on a motorshow as a racing simulator ( read marketing tool, 1 to 1 battlemode, children can race against their dads and beat them!!) The design itself is a functional and emotional sculpture, it is based on a father who embraces and protects his son. Speed is also present in the shape but it supports the bigger theme : the emotional connection. The whole process was completed within 4 months.
